HRITC organizes a symposium on the challenges of human rights work in Taiz

Human Rights Information and Training Center – HRITC for organized a discussion seminar on
(Challenges of human rights work in light of the siege in Taiz).
The symposium stressed the importance of strengthening the unity of the human rights class in Taiz in particular, and Yemen in general, in order to win human rights issues that should not slip into any partisan disputes or conflicts, as the supreme issue is the preservation of human dignity and the protection of human rights.
The seminar, in which nearly thirty human rights and media activists participated, concluded the specificity of the suffering of human rights activities in Taiz, in light of the Houthi blockade five years ago, and the conflicts that exist between political parties, which pose a great challenge to human rights activists.
The symposium called on the Human Rights Information and Training Center – HRITC and participating human rights organizations to activate joint cooperation between all actors in Taiz in order to restore the issue of Taiz to the true position it deserves in the circle of international human rights attention as well as the priorities of the political solution in Yemen.
Participants in the symposium, who represented the rights spectrum in Yemen, said that Taiz is subject to the greatest real cost in the ongoing war and that the grave violations that it is exposed to, especially by the siege of the Houthi militia, fall within the framework of the systematic collective violations.
The symposium called on the United Nations organizations and other international organizations to reconsider their failure to deal with the state of violations suffered by the province
Working more seriously with the greatest tragedy in Yemen, which is subject to striking international neglect, stressing that the silence of the international human rights bodies on the destructive collective punishments of more than four million people in Taiz Governorate is a palace that amounts to participating in the crime.
The symposium called on various political and party forces in Taiz to stop the ongoing conflict, stop any armed movements and work together to restore the legitimate state institutions and strengthen the role of state institutions, which, according to the description of the symposium, can only be restored to the institutions of the rule of law.
The participants called for a quick call to the political and party forces in Taiz for a quick meeting for a dialogue that stops the existing conflicts and avoids the tragedy of slipping into multiple conflicts and chaos, which started to increase in each day from before.
