AMNESTY: RELEASE ARBITRARILY DETAINED JOURNALIST
Journalist Younes Abdel Salam has been arbitrarily detained without charge for nearly a year by the de facto Houthi authorities. He was falsely accused of espionage with foreign parties. Following his arrest, he was subjected to enforced disappearance for several weeks, and then was held incommunicado for at least three months. Amnesty International is calling on the de facto Houthi authorities to immediately release Younes Abdel Salam. Until his release, the authorities should ensure that he is protected from torture and other ill-treatment, and that he has access to legal representation, contact with his family, and access to adequate health care.
