92 violations documented by the Information Center during last June in Taiz June 2023 violations


Taiz / Exclusive: June 2023 violations

The Human Rights Information and Training Center HRITC announced that it had documented 92 cases of violations last June, of which the Houthi militia committed 78 violations, and gunmen outside the framework of the state committed 9 violations, while unidentified gunmen committed 3 violations, and members of the government army committed two of them.

The center said in its monthly report entitled “Taiz…a series of killings and a continuous siege.”

His field team documented the killing of 8 civilians, including one child. The Houthi militia caused the death of two civilians, as one civilian was killed by a Houthi sniper, and a child was killed by direct fire from the Houthi militia.

Gunmen outside the framework of the state caused the death of 4 civilians with direct gunfire, and another civilian was killed with a grenade thrown by a gunman outside the framework of the state, while the body of a soldier was found killed by unknown gunmen.

The field center team was able to monitor the injury of 11 civilians, including a woman and 3 children, the Houthi militia caused the injury of 7 of them. Houthi.

One civilian was wounded by direct fire from gunmen outside the state, and two others, one of whom was a child, were wounded by a hand grenade thrown by gunmen outside the state, and one child was injured by being run over by a vehicle belonging to members of the government army.

The center’s field team documented a case of mass displacement committed by the Houthi militia in early June, as it bombed with heavy weapons and mortar shells the villages of Hawamra isolation and the areas of Haqab and Al-Dahhi in the Mawiyah district, which led to a large displacement of the people after the militia barricaded themselves in civilian homes and destroyed some of them with mines.

72 cases of violations of private property were documented, some of which were collective cases that the field team could not monitor due to the inability to reach them, as they are still dangerous areas that are continuously bombarded and sniped by the Houthi militia.
Where 29 houses were partially damaged, 12 completely, 16 vehicles, and 7 houses were completely destroyed by artillery shelling of the Houthi militia. Several houses were blown up with mines, several civilian homes were stormed, and several civilian farms were bombed by the Houthi militia.

A cow was killed by a landmine planted by the Houthi militia, and a camel was killed by the Houthi militia.

A vehicle was partially damaged by a hand grenade by gunmen outside the state, while a vehicle was partially damaged by unknown gunmen, and a merchant’s money was looted by a member of the government army.
