Human Rights Information & Training Center – HRITC organizing a seminar “Torture is the crime of this era”,
On the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, Friday, June 26, at 7 pm Yemen time.
The seminar, which will be held through visual communication technology and will be live on Facebook pages of Human Rights Information & Training Center – HRITC.
Dr. Abdulkader Alguneid, a Yemeni doctor, politician, one of the most famous defenders of the civil state and the most prominent political detainees in the recent period will talk about:
– The reality of prisons and various detention centres in Yemen through the live experience he experienced.
– The truth about the numbers of detainees and the methods and means used for torture.
On the other hands,
Mr. Alaa Shalaby, President of the Arab Organization for Human Rights will talk about:
– How to stop the series of violations and end torture
– What is the required role of society, especially in the absence of government institutions,
– How to enhance civil society cooperation and partnership with the international community to support victims of torture.
