HRITC demands the United Nations to intervene to save the lives of the SAFER engineers kidnapped by Al-Houthi

The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the competent international organizations to speed up work to save the lives of three Yemeni engineers working for the Safer Company for Exploration and Oil Production in Yemen.
A statement by the centre said that the three engineers were kidnapped by the Houthi group on Sunday, January 3, 2021, while they were on their way from Sana’a to the headquarters of the company in Marib, which provides domestic gas services to all regions of the Republic of Yemen, including those under the control of the Houthi.
The statement of the Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC), a regional organization that has a consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, confirmed that:
- Engineer Jaber Saleh Al-Adashi – Director of the Reservoir Department
- Engineer Amin Numan Al-Maqtari – Director of the Exploration Department
- Engineer, Mohamed Fouad Thabet Al-Agbry, an IT engineer.
They were kidnapped by the Houthi elements and taken to unknown places and there is a serious fear for their lives.
HRITC demanded their speedy release and the United Nations through the Office of the Secretary-General and his envoy to Yemen and the High Commissioner for Human Rights to intervene and condemn this crime that strikes the nerve of life for an institution that provides its services to all of Yemen and threatens the lives of innocent people.
The center called on the official authorities in the country to move widely until the engineers are released and the services of the public oil company are ensured.
