The work of the training course on refugee rights in international legislation and the role of civil society in refugee protection concluded today.
It was organized by the Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) in partnership with the Adalah Center for Human Rights and cooperation with the United Nations Women Organization and the Group of Nine, with funding from the Japanese government.
36 participants from different countries participated in the session
The program included the course he presented
Professor Magdy Helmy is an expert in training in the field of human rights.
On:
1- Refugee rights in international legislation.
2- The role of civil society in protecting refugees.
3- The necessary interventions to defend the refugees and their human rights.
The session was opened by Professor Assem Rababa – Head of the Adalah Center for Human Rights, by stressing the importance of shedding light on the issue of refugees, especially in the issue of knowledge of rights, and what is the role of civil society in protecting this group, which suffered and suffers a lot.
Professor Ziad Khaled, Director of the Human Rights Information and Rehabilitation Center in Beirut, emphasized that one of the most important objectives of the course is to raise the capabilities of the participants in refugee rights, as well as the positive contribution to them as civil society activists in protecting refugees and transferring knowledge to their institutions and that civil society organizations are one of the most important tools for protecting refugees, migrants and displaced together.
Ziad Khaled added that the Information Center continues to rehabilitate and train those interested in various human rights issues for a better tomorrow.
