The start of the regional training course for women’s rights in light of the COVID-19 pandemic

Today, the work of the training course on women’s rights in light of the Covid 19 pandemic, organized by the Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC), in cooperation with the International Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) within the women and peace program.
Today’s training course covered basic human rights principles, the women’s rights convention, and the effects of COVID-19 on women’s rights.
Lawyer Ziad Khaled, Director of HRITC in Beirut, said that this session is important as it sheds light on women’s human rights with the seriousness of the effects of the spread of the Coronavirus and its impact on the overall health, economic and psychological conditions, especially women.
He added emphasizing the pioneering role of HRITC in the course of spreading awareness in the field of human rights and defending women’s issues in particular.
The session, which comes under extremely difficult circumstances due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the multiple conflicts that the Arab region suffers from, emphasizes the importance of working for the maintenance of peace and security by entrenching the principles of human rights.
Lawyer Mahmoud Abdel Fattah, the course instructor, praised the diverse presence of the participants and participants from different Arab countries.
The two-day session will feature forty participants, including human rights activists and civil society.
