The launch of the training course “The Role of Young Women in Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Resolution 1325”

Today, the work of the training course on the role of young women in peacebuilding and conflict prevention Resolution 1325,
It was organized by the Democracy Clubs and Human Rights in partnership with the Adalah Center for Human Rights, in cooperation with the United Nations Women’s Organization and the Group of Nine, and with funding from the Japanese government.

30 participants from different countries are participating in the course under the supervision of Mr. Fadi Abi Allam, President of the Permanent Peace Movement in Lebanon. The course lasts for two days, between theoretical and practical application.

The course focuses on the importance of International Resolution 1325 related to strengthening the role of women in peacebuilding, and the steps and procedures that are supposed to be worked on to ensure the participation of young women in peace efforts and the prevention of violent conflicts,
What are the possible initiatives during wars that women can present and document the conflict situation?

The session was opened by Mr. Asim Rababa – President of the Adalah Center for Human Rights, by stressing the importance of the session at a stage witnessing ongoing conflicts in most of the Arab region in general and Yemen in particular.

Mr. Fadi Abi Allam, trainer at the course and head of the Permanent Peace Movement in Lebanon, for his part, stressed the importance of the program and that it is part of the struggle of young women in the peace movement in the Arab region.
The promotion of peacebuilding is a matter of special priority to achieve stability in the entire region, indicating that civil society is an essential and effective partner in building peace and preventing conflicts.

It is worth noting that this session was sponsored by the Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) as part of the program to support various youth initiatives for civil society activities and activists, and the center affirmed all its support for any activity that contributes to promoting peace in the Arab world.
