The inauguration of the International Academy for Human Rights and
The issuance of its first publications on the international protection of human rights
In a joint symposium between Yemen, Lebanon, and France, the International Academy of Human Rights launched its first work on Friday with a symposium on the first electronic publication issued by it, a book (Introduction to the International Protection of Human Rights) by Professor Dr. Muhammad Amin Al-Maidani.
The book is a reference and guide for researchers and scholars in the field of human rights. In it, the researcher dealt with the basic definitions of human rights concepts and the problems between some concepts and terms. The author also devoted sections to international protection mechanisms and their problems.
The International Academy said that this version presented by Dr. Al-Maidani, a well-known professor of international law and human rights, who provided the human rights library with dozens of distinguished books and research, especially in the field of regional and international protection mechanisms, is an important and qualitative addition to the Arab library.
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC), a regional organization that holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, said in the inauguration of the academy that it is an initiative of the center in cooperation with the Basma International Humanitarian Aid Group and the Arab Center for Education on International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.
The academy aims to be a space for training human rights activists in the Arab region, through various training tracks, including approved training programs via cyberspace and with direct applications that the trainee can receive directly through the academy’s website, as well as actual training in coordination with international universities.
The symposium’s statement, which was launched yesterday, announced that the Academy, in cooperation with the three institutions and the University of Strasbourg in France, will organize a course for human rights activists in Strasbourg next November.
It is worth mentioning that the International Academy of Human Rights is an institution that works to promote awareness in the field of human rights through direct and electronic training completed through the Academy’s website, which is available to all activists in the Arab region.
