HRITC confirms that the Houthi bombing of industrial facilities in Hodeidah is a war crime
Taiz /
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) condemned the Houthi militia’s bombing of industrial facilities in Hodeidah and the killing of security civilians yesterday, Thursday.
The center said in a statement today, Friday, December 4, that the Houthi militia’s targeting of the Thabit Brotherhood’s industrial complex in the city of Hodeidah directly was not the first time, but rather a confirmation of a repeated approach it has taken towards notables and private and public establishments, which are known and clear notables and facilities.
HRITC, a regional organization that has a consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, affirmed that these operations are crimes against humanity and in violation of international humanitarian law, and the Houthi group presents the perpetrators of war crimes in Yemen.
The Center stated that at the time the UN Security Council was listening to the report of prominent experts in charge of human rights in Yemen yesterday, the Houthi militia was bombing unarmed civilians in Taiz and Hodeidah, clearly and with a target that violates all the rules of international humanitarian law and human rights.
According to the monitoring team at the center, the Houthi militia’s bombing of the Thabit Brotherhood “Akouan Thabit” Group’s industrial complex in Hodeidah resulted in more than ten deaths and injuries. Initial information obtained by the monitoring team was confirmed that five workers were killed:
1- Abdullah Mohammad Al-Hal
2- Nabil Ali Aziz Al-Jubaili
3- Munir Al-Ansi
4_Abdul Razzaq Abdullah
5_ Mohammad Ali Al-Mughalis
There are at least seven injured workers in the factory, some of them seriously:
1- Mansour Bahloul
2_ Ayyash Ghayah
3_ Abdo Kadaf
4 Samir Saleh
5_ Saddam Fadel
6- Omar Salloum
7_Hilmi Abdo Al-Mawly
HRITC called on the international community, in the forefront of which is the Security Council, to take the necessary measures to stop these crimes and activate its decisions towards Yemen, since this is the first step that Yemen needs to restore stability and stop the war, and that silence about these crimes is something that helps this militia and war merchants to continue their violation of the right of the Yemeni people who live. The biggest human tragedy in the world
