HRITC condemns the bombing of the Al-Houthi militia Al-Ahly Club and demands the international community to stop the Houthi war crimes in Taiz

The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) condemned the bombing by the Houthi militia this morning of sports facilities in Taiz.
A statement by the center said that the Houthi bombed today, Saturday, December 12, 2020, 6 a.m. Yemen time, the Al-Ahly club in Taiz during the morning training that the players’ team used to do.
HRITC stated that the targeting of known civilian facilities is war crimes that the Houthis have committed and deliberately committed.
Where the residents of the neighborhood confirmed to the center’s team that the bombing took place at a deliberate timing, as artillery was fired by the Houthi position overlooking the city of Taiz from the east today, and civilians were killed.
A facility where the location is known and the times for exercise are monitored, as the playground is open and clearly marked.
The statement of the Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC), a regional organization that has a consultative status with the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations, stressed the need to prosecute the perpetrators of war crimes and for the international community to play its role towards the continuation of the series of killings and siege in Taiz.
The center’s statement said that the Houthi militia deliberately bombed various civilian facilities, the most recent of which was the artillery bombardment of the Martyrs Stadium and the Al-Ahly Club in Taiz this morning.
Moreover, the monitoring team at the center said that a team of old players with Al-Ahly team used, as part of a training program, to do exercises at dawn at a known time, and that the Houthi bombing precisely targeted the stadium while the players were present.
The bombing, which was carried out by a Howitzer shell, killed:
- Captain Nasser Qaid Mohsen
- And his son, Amran Nasser
Two other children were injured: the two brothers Ramzi and Akram Shawqi Mohammed Ahmed.
The artillery bombardment targeted the club at known times due to the exercises that the club’s affiliates have been carrying out regularly.
