The Information Center documents 1,534 violations that affected civilians in Taiz during the past year

The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) launched its annual report, in which it documented the occurrence of 1,534 violations that affected civilians in Taiz Governorate during the past year 2021, most of which were committed directly by the Houthi militia, classified according to the Security Council as a terrorist organization.
The center said in a press statement today that according to the information and data collected and verified by the field team, the Houthi militia directly caused 1,165 violations, and armed men outside the framework of the state caused 142 violations, while individuals belonging to various factions in the government army caused 128 violations, Unidentified gunmen caused 49 violations.
The joint forces on the West Coast of Tariq Saleh caused 33 violations, and 13 violations occurred as a result of the bombing of the Arab coalition, while other parties committed 4 violations.
Extrajudicial killing:
The center’s field team documented the killing of 204 civilians, including 38 children and 12 women, at the hands of various parties in Taiz. The Houthi militia killed 114 civilians, including 9 women and 29 children. About 34 civilians, including 13 children and 6 women, were killed as a result of their direct targeting with various heavy and medium shells, which fall almost Daily on most neighborhoods and residential areas in the city and a number of districts and countryside.
This was followed by the deaths of 24 civilians, including two children, by direct bullets, and 14 civilians, including 7 children and two women, were killed by direct sniping by snipers affiliated with the Houthi militia in the places and military barracks taken by the militia in nearby areas it controls.
Also, about 20 civilians, including a woman and 4 children, were killed by the explosion of mines and one child by the explosion of a hand grenade, and two civilians by an explosive device. Militants outside the framework of the state, concentrated in areas liberated from the Houthi militia, killed 34 civilians, including a woman and 4 children, as 26 civilians were killed by direct bullets, and 3 civilians, including one child, were killed by an explosive device explosion, and 4 civilians, including 3 children, were killed by a grenade explosion, and gunmen were executed. While members of the army and security forces affiliated with several partisan and regional factions killed 22 civilians, including a child and a woman, 15 of them, including a woman, were killed by direct bullets, and one child was killed by artillery shelling. The joint forces of Tariq Saleh caused the death of 9 civilians, and 6 civilians, including 3 children, were killed by airstrikes by the Arab coalition, and one civilian was shot dead during the security forces’ clashes with militants outside the framework of the state.
Multiple injuries:
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) documented the injury of 381 civilians, including 110 children and 38 women. The Houthi militia caused 227 injuries to civilians, including 68 children and 32 women. The various shells killed 98 civilians, including 33 children and 15 women.
Snipers injured about 44 civilians, including 18 children and 13 women. Unidentified gunmen injured 16 civilians, including a woman and 3 children. One civilian was wounded by an explosive device explosion, and 5 civilians, including a child, were wounded by direct bullets. 5 civilians were wounded by a hand grenade explosion, and 5 others, including two children and a woman, were wounded by recurring bullets.
19 civilians, including 3 children, were wounded by direct bullets from the joint forces of Tariq Saleh, and two civilians were wounded, one of whom was directly shot and a military crew was run over by forces affiliated with Major General Haitham Qassem, and 4 civilians, including two children and a woman, were injured as a result of an airstrike by the Arab coalition.
Kidnapping and enforced disappearance:
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) monitored 160 cases of individual and collective kidnapping and enforced disappearance.
The Houthi militia caused 138 cases of kidnapping and enforced disappearance, 11 of them were caused by armed men outside the framework of the state, 3 cases were committed by the joint forces of Tariq Saleh, 6 cases committed by members of the army and security were documented, one case of unknown gunmen and another case of the Giants Forces.
Arrests:
The field team of the Information Center documented 10 cases of arrests of civilians, including two detainees by the Houthi militia, while 6 others were arrested by the army and government security, and 2 others were arrested by the joint forces of Tariq Saleh.
Attacks:
The field team of the Information Center documented 22 cases of attacks against civilians in Taiz governorate during the reporting period, 8 of which were committed by armed men outside the framework of the state, 9 cases by government and security personnel, 3 cases by unknown armed men, and only 2 cases by Houthi militants.
Displacement and forced displacement:
The center’s field team monitored 416 cases of mass and individual forced displacement and displacement
Freedom of speech :
The human rights team of the Information Center monitored 9 cases of violations of freedom of opinion and expression during the reporting period. Armed individuals outside the framework of the state committed one case, while members of the government army, security, and local authority committed five other cases, and unknown armed men committed one case, while the Houthi militia committed two cases.
Public and private property:
The field team was able to monitor the damage of 332 public and private properties, including 11 public properties and 321 private properties, as 8 public properties were damaged by the Houthi militia, most of them as a result of the bombing, including schools, colleges, hospitals, and police stations.
The team documented two cases in which public buildings were damaged by members of the army and security forces as a result of intrusion and looting, including the Judicial Complex and Al-Thawra Hospital.
Unidentified gunmen also caused various damages in Garden City Park due to the explosion of an explosive device planted by unknown persons.
While 256 private properties were damaged by the Houthi militia, 24 were owned by armed men outside the framework of the state, 9 were owned by unknown armed men, 29 were owned by members of the army and security, and 3 cases by the Arab coalition.
Mass massacres:
The field team of the Human Rights Information and Training Center (hritc) documented the occurrence of 11 bloody massacres during the year 2021 AD, which killed 28 civilians, including 11 children, and injured 54 civilians, including 30 children and women.
The Houthi militia committed 8 of them, killing 22 civilians, including 8 children, and wounding 23 civilians, including 10 children.

Assassinations:
The Center documented 7 assassination cases and one assassination attempt, during which 5 military leaders in the army and the popular resistance were assassinated, 10 other soldiers were wounded, and two leaders survived the assassination attempt.
Unidentified gunmen committed 4 cases, most of them by placing explosive devices, while armed men outside the framework of the state committed two cases, and the Houthi militia committed one case.

The field team of the Information Center documented the killing of about 20 civilians, including a woman and 4 children, the wounding of 45 civilians, including two women and 11 children, and the death of many livestock as a result of the explosion of mines planted in roads, farms and mountain pastures.
