Taiz … the siege of death (2600 days of siege)
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) issues this special report, with the launch of a new truce in Yemen, led by the issue of Taiz and the lifting of the siege on it.
With the renewal of the armistice called by the United Nations in Yemen for another two months, starting from the second of June 2022, the Taiz issue returned to the fore. And with it is the story of a deadly siege that extends to more than 2,600 days of continuous siege.
The issue of lifting the siege on Taiz emerged as a basis against which to measure the progress of this truce, which was affected by many breaches, but the local community deliberately went with the international call, with the need to positively deal with the truce call despite the Houthi militia’s rejection of the matter, in order to miss the opportunity for the Houthi militias to renew the operations of military confrontations The wide.
In addition, all this is in order to take serious steps to lift the siege on Taiz, which is entering its eighth year as the longest siege in history, and one of the most famous ongoing war crimes.
