The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) announced that it had documented 76 cases of violations against civilians in Taiz Governorate during the month of October 2022, of which the Houthi militia caused 50 violations, 17 of which were committed by gunmen outside the framework of the state, while unknown gunmen committed 6 violations, and 3 violations resulted from clashes. Armed between gunmen outside the framework of the state and members of the government army.
The center said in its monthly report entitled “Taiz…between the pincers of siege and chaos.”
His field team documented the killing of 9 civilians, including two children, the Houthi militia killed 4 of them, including a child.
The Houthis killed one child as a result of the bombing, while one civilian was killed by direct fire, two civilians were killed by Houthi snipers, two civilians were killed by a hand grenade thrown by gunmen outside the framework of the state, and 3 civilians, including one child, were killed by an explosive device planted by unknown gunmen.
The field center team was able to monitor the injury of 36 civilians, including 7 children and 3 women. The Houthi militia caused the injury of 20 civilians, including 7 children and a woman. Houthi snipers injured 5 civilians, including a child and one woman. Houthi mines injured two children, and Houthi shells injured 6 civilians, 3 of them children, and Houthi drones injured 7 civilians, including a child.
Gunmen outside the framework of the state caused the injury of 5 civilians, including a woman, with direct bullets, while 6 civilians, including a woman, were injured when an explosive device exploded by gunmen outside the framework of the state, and one civilian was injured as a result of being beaten by gunmen outside the framework of the state.
One civilian was wounded by a hand grenade of an unknown gunman, and clashes between gunmen outside the framework of the state and members of the army resulted in the injury of 3 civilians.
The center’s field team documented 3 cases of kidnapping, one of them mass, committed by the Houthi militia, as well as one case of assault committed by gunmen outside the framework of the state, and one assassination attempt carried out by unknown gunmen.
26 cases of violations of private property were documented, 23 of which were committed by the Houthi militia, two cases were committed by gunmen outside the framework of the state, and one case was committed by an unknown gunman.
