32 violations documented by the Information Center during the past month of June in Taiz – June 2024 violations
Taiz – Special: Violations of June 2024
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) announced that it documented 32 violations during the month of June in Taiz Governorate, 21 of which were committed by the Houthi militia, 5 by gunmen outside the state, and 4 by unknown gunmen.
The center said in its monthly report entitled “Taiz.. A Cautious Break in the Ongoing Siege” that its field team documented the killing of one civilian who was run over by a Houthi military vehicle, and 11 civilians were injured, 6 of whom were injured by the Houthi militia, 3 others were injured by gunmen outside the state, and 2 others were injured by unknown gunmen.
Two civilians were injured by a landmine explosion planted by the Houthi militia, while 4 civilians were injured by a Houthi mortar shell, while two civilians, one of whom was a child, were injured by direct fire from gunmen outside the state, and two civilians were injured by an explosive device planted by unknown individuals.
The field team of the center was able to document two cases of assault, one of which was caused by unknown gunmen and the other by gunmen outside the framework of the state, two cases of attempted assassination, one of which was caused by unknown gunmen and the other by the Houthi militia, and one case of violation of freedom of opinion and expression caused by gunmen outside the framework of the state.
The field team of the center documented 15 violations of private property, where 7 houses were partially damaged, 2 others were completely damaged, and 4 vehicles were damaged by Houthi artillery shelling, and a vehicle was completely damaged by the explosion of an explosive device placed by unknown persons, and a house was partially damaged by gunmen outside the framework of the state.
