Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) called on the international community to quickly stop the ongoing war crime against the city of Taiz in south-central Yemen.
HRITC said that the siege imposed by the Houthi militia on the city for more than seven years is one of the most heinous war crimes in Yemen. also, the densely populated city is paying the price for its position exposed to the Houthi militia in a strict siege, except for a problematic mountain exit to the south, which is also very dangerous.
The center said in a statement today on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that the Houthi militia has deliberately and continues to target civilians directly and deliberately through its shells and various heavy weapons, and the continuous sniping towards passers-by and neighborhoods close to the Houthi station kills the lives of children and women who have no fault other than their survival. in the heart of their besieged city.
Information Center (Hritc) indicated that the entrances to the city and the villages surrounding Taiz, as well as the roads, suffer from the catastrophe of the mines that the Houthis planted without maps, causing fatal damage to all civilians who use those roads on a daily basis.
In its statement, the Center stressed the importance of the role of the United Nations and the member states of the Security Council to form an international investigation team for this file, (as it has become shameful for the international community that nearly four million people have been subjected to a systematic murder in front of the world’s eyes and ears).
Explained that the failure of political pressures and the intersection of the interests of the militias did not work, and the national mechanisms are unable to prosecute the perpetrators of these violations.
Human Rights Information and Training Center (Hritc) said that as we celebrate the greatest document of our time, which is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it is a priority for all political and societal forces to make these principles a tangible reality for all.
