Documenting 91 Violations in Taiz During September

The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) announced that it documented 91 cases of violations last September in Taiz Governorate, of which the Houthi militia committed 62 violations, and armed men outside the framework of the state committed 20 violations, while unidentified gunmen committed 5 violations, individuals in the government army committed 3 violations, and the joint forces of Tariq Saleh committed one violation. The center said in its monthly report entitled “Taiz: The Siege of Epidemics and Defenders” that its field team documented the killing of 5 civilians, including a child. One civilian was killed by direct bullets from one of Tariq Saleh’s joint forces, while another civilian was killed by direct bullets during clashes between individuals affiliated with factions in the government army, and a third was killed. As a result of a hand grenade explosion by gunmen outside the state, a fourth was killed during clashes by gunmen outside the state, while a child was killed by bullets from unknown gunmen.
The field center team was able to monitor the injury of 22 civilians, including one woman. The Houthi militia caused the injury of 4 of them, including a woman. One civilian was injured by an explosive device and one woman was injured by mortar shells. Two civilians were also injured by Houthi sniper bullets. 13 civilians were injured by direct bullets during armed clashes outside the framework of the state, and 5 civilians were injured by a bomb explosion by militants outside the framework of the state.
The Centre’s field team documented two assassination attempts carried out by unknown gunmen, and also documented 5 cases of kidnapping committed by the Houthi militia.
57 cases of violations of public and private property were also documented, one of which was public, where a number of government army gunmen stormed a public school and seized it.
The Center documented 56 special cases, 53 of which were committed by the Houthi militia, where 21 homes were partially damaged, 7 others were completely damaged, and 18 vehicles were damaged, and 6 homes were completely destroyed by artillery shelling by the Houthi militia.
A house was also partially damaged by the explosion of an explosive device belonging to the Houthi militia, a house and a vehicle were partially damaged by direct bullets from unknown gunmen, and a fish refrigeration and preservation factory was stormed and stopped by factions in the government army.
