Taiz:
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) condemned the intense bombing of the Houthi militia on overcrowded residential neighborhoods in Taiz this morning, Wednesday, November 4, 2020
The center’s statement said that the Houthi forces stationed on the highland of the Sofitel bombed with artillery the Al-Kamp neighborhood, specifically the houses near Al-Khair Mosque, east of Taiz.
The artillery shell fell at exactly twelve o’clock in the afternoon on the homes of unarmed citizens, and three children were injured as a result of their return from school directly, and they are the brothers:
- Khadija Shaif Sharaf Abdullah, 5 years old
- Hisham Shaif Sharaf Abdullah, 9 years old
- Shaif Sharaf Abdullah letters 10 years
The center added that the bombing targeted civilian homes, including the home of Shaif Sharaf Abdullah, and fatally wounded the three children, and according to medical information obtained by the information center, the condition of the child Hisham Shaif is very critical, with indications of cardiac arrest at the beginning of Wednesday evening.
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC), a regional organization that has consultative status with the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations, confirmed in its statement today that the monitoring team at the center monitored the location of the bombing and that the targeting took place in a place crowded with civilians, and near clear landmarks, including the Al-Khair School and Mosque.
HRITC explained that the bombing in this systematic way of known civilian landmarks is a war crime and is a flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.
The Center called on the United Nations, the Office of the International Special Envoy to Yemen, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and international and regional organizations to stand in serious condemnation of these acts, which have become a destructive approach to the city of Taiz, which has been besieged by the Houthis for six years.
HRITC demanded the need to work to stop these attacks and protect civilians
As the international silence and the international ignorance of all these violations contributed to their persistence.
