HRITC affirms that the peace process in the Arab region respects the rights of the Palestinian people and establishes their independent Palestinian state
Geneva /
Human Rights Information and Training Center – HRITC emphasized that achieving peace in the Arab region is based on empowering the Palestinian people from their rights and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The center said in a joint statement with the regional network of human rights activists in Yemen and the Gulf, Haqqi Center and the Yemeni League in Switzerland today, in a session of the United Nations Human Rights Council at its 45th session, what is being proposed about the Brahimi project is a clear circumvention of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and will work to consecrate conflicts with their religious dimension that would impede any future path to peace.
The statement, delivered by the Center’s delegate Sumaya Mumin, in the official session, called on the international community to work harder for peace in the Middle East, the key of which is resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with international legitimacy references and respecting the principles of human rights and international humanitarian law.
