HRITC calls on the international community to take serious stances regarding the Houthi militia’s bombing of hospitals and schools
Taiz /
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) called on the international community, led by the United Nations, to work seriously to stop the crimes of the Houthi militia that they deliberately commit in Yemen, especially its systematic bombing of civilians in Marib and Taiz.
The center, which is a regional organization that has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, said in a statement today that the Houthi militia bombed the Al-Thawra Hospital building yesterday with anti-aircraft weapons in the heart of Taiz.
The shelling deliberately damaged the largest hospital in the city, as the shell hit the hospital’s operating room and left a wounded person in critical condition.
Furthermore, at dawn today, the Houthi artillery hit Al-Zubairi School in the Nisiriya neighbourhood of Taiz, and the systematic bombing of the Houthi forces over the past two days has focused on densely populated neighbourhoods such as Al-Jumhuriya newspaper, Al-Shamasy and Al-Nisiriya.
According to confirmed information from the monitoring team of the Human Rights Information and Rehabilitation Center, at least two were wounded, and the shelling caused significant material damage.
The center confirmed in its statement today that the targeting of hospitals and schools are crimes against humanity that the Houthi militia clearly intended to commit, and that the silence of the international community in the face of the increase in the militia’s bombing of the city of Marib with missiles and artillery, and the focus on harming civilians, as happened with the displaced communities in Marib, all of which are systematic crimes confirming The danger of the militia’s agenda, which did not find serious deterrence from the international community, commensurate with the gravity of what it is doing.
