Corona doubles the siege of Taiz
34 violations documented by HRITC last May in Taiz.
Human Rights Information and Training Center (Hritc) announced its documentation of 34 cases of violations against civilians in Taiz Governorate during the month of May.
HRITC said in its monthly report entitled “Taiz… Corona another siege” that its field team managed “despite the difficulty of movement and movement due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic and the difficult conditions in the governorate.” Documenting the killing of 8 civilians, including two women, the Houthi militia caused the killing of a man and a woman, including a missile A mortar, and 3 civilians were killed by gunmen outside the state. HRITC team was able to monitor the injury of 14 civilians, including a woman and 5 children. The field team monitored 10 cases of violations of private property, during which two houses were partially damaged and a house was totally destroyed due to the continuous shelling of the Houthi militia, in addition to the destruction of 4 private vehicles and 3 others as a result of the shelling with the militia shells.
The report lists the residential areas and neighbourhoods that were heavily bombed by the militia of the revolutionary militia with various medium and heavy weapons east of the city and the Shamasi neighbourhood in Sala, and the village of Athawer was bombed in Haifan.
The report also touched upon the deteriorating health situation in light of the war and the siege imposed more than five years ago by the Houthi militia and its collapse in light of a new siege as a result of the spread of the Corona pandemic.
As the Houthi militia made the situation more difficult by its deliberate bombing of the governorate hospitals, especially Al-Thawra and Al-Jumhuri Hospital, and also preventing the entry of medicines and health supplies into it, causing a health catastrophe throughout the past years, which led to the collapse of this important sector in the governorate.
