HRITC launches the work of the late Abdullah Khalil course on journalism and human rights

Begins today the work of the training course on journalism and human rights, organized by the Human Rights Information and Training Center – Hritc.
It lasts five days and includes basic concepts in the field of journalistic work professionally including human rights journalism, news story and news story with the report and news coverage as well as investigation and analysis.
According to a statement by the center, 24 participants attend the course from human rights activists from different Arab countries.
A statement of the center said that the course is being launched in the name of the late Professor Abdullah Khalil the well-known human rights lawyer who left last year after forty years of distinguished human rights activists on the Arab scene. Besides, had a prominent role in training and qualification cases in the field of press freedom, issued many publications, human rights publications, and specialized training guides.
The fact that his name was given to the specialized course in the field of journalism and human rights is a reminder of the leadership role of a lawyer who has always been in the field of human rights giving until the last moment of his life and in various Arab countries.
The late Abdullah Khalil was among the advisory board of Human Rights Information and Training Center – Hritc and within the establishment team of the center, which began twenty-five years ago.
He also served on the boards of the Arab Organization for Human Rights and the Egyptian Organization and worked as a consultant on United Nations programs and various civil society organizations.
The current session will include a practical application to prepare and publish press reports on various human rights issues and work to publish them. The course will continue until 20 July 2020 under the supervision and training of journalist _ Magdy Helmy, a trainer in human rights and editor-in-chief of the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Wafd
Human Rights Information and Training Center – HRITC for emphasized that the second session will be held on the sixth of next month for the second group of 26 participants, focusing on the press and human rights during conflicts with similar practical applications and that given the strong demand for the training course by human rights activists in the Arab region.
The Center worked on establishing two consecutive courses instead of one session to accommodate the largest number of applicants and that the admission process carried out according to the criteria and conditions of the announced course taking into account the workers in cases of monitoring violations and human and human rights work.
The acceptance of sixty male and female participants on two separate sessions begins today with the first session of them and the centre provides training documents and practical steps for professional application to effectively promote concepts as the participants will prepare a press article for human rights issues. Besides, publish in different press sites cooperating with the information and rehabilitation centre for human rights hritc to enhance the role of the participants and link their knowledge and skills in a direct practical way, and in light of this, accredited course certificates are granted by for a specialized training centre and team.
