HRITC demands the speedy disclosure of the reasons for the disappearance of a diplomat in Aden
Human Rights Information and Training Center – HRITC called on the authorities in the governorate of Aden to move quickly to uncover the circumstances of the disappearance of the diplomat, Ferdoos Al-Dhalai, and to reveal who was behind her disappearance.
The center said in a statement today that there are serious concerns about the life of Yemeni diplomat Ferdoos Al-Dhalai, who disappeared from a hotel in Aden.
According to sources quoted by the diplomat family in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa, their daughter is still missing, after returning to Aden, coming from the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Ferdoos arrived, on Friday, August 21 at five in the evening, at Aden Airport, arriving from Cairo airport, and went to the “Sa’aa Makkah Hotel”, and she booked a ticket on the “First Company” to Sanaa.
The family added that the departure time from Aden to Sana’a was on Saturday at seven in the morning, but the bus arrived in Sanaa on Saturday evening, and Ferdoos was not among the travelers, noting that her name was on the list of the bus passengers, but she did not get off from Aden.
The family indicated that they contacted a person from Aden in order to go to the hotel to confirm their presence.
According to what the sources said, the hotel had already confirmed that Ferdoos was a guest, but they did not find in her room, except for her belongings, which are two bags of clothes and a hand, her phone and her diplomatic and regular passport, indicating that she was preparing to leave.
Human Rights Information and Training Center – HRITC called on the legitimate government and the security authorities controlling Aden to quickly uncover the circumstances of Ferdoos’s kidnapping, uncover the truth and who was behind it, and work to protect her and maintain her safety.
The center said that there is a real fear for her life due to the multiplicity of armed actors in the city and the insecurity that most regions of Yemen are witnessing. HRITC said that the relevant authorities in Aden must clarify the facts for the Ferdous family and confirm the seriousness and commitment to protecting and preserving the lives and safety of citizens.
