Dr. Hassan Abd Al-Aty, left in a sudden accident in Sudan
Taiz /
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we received the news of the departure of Dr. Hassan Abdel Aty, after an unfortunate accident yesterday in Sudan near “Mesmar” on the road between Port Sudan and Atbara in the Nile River State, while he was undertaking work in promoting peace and democratic dialogue in Sudan.
Dr. Hassan Abdel Aty is one of the most prominent symbols of the civil society movement in Sudan and the Arab region
He participated with the Human Rights Information and Rehabilitation Center (HRITC) in a long march of joint work spanning nearly two decades, during which he was an example of love and giving, a capable researcher and a daring fighter for the values of human rights and democracy.
The membership of the board of directors of the Arab Network for Non-Governmental Organizations ANDD brought us together in Beirut, and work programs were still in place, and their impact will remain effective in the field of human rights and development work in the Arab region.
The deceased greatly contributed to shaping the path of democratic transformation in Sudan and was the most prominent representative of the civil society movement in making the ongoing democratic transitions and one of the most prominent leaders of the change movement
He has always remained the voice of truth and the defender of the values and principles of democracy and human rights.
