259 violations were documented by the Information Center during last January in Taiz, most of them in Al-Haima


Taiz / Special:

The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) announced that it had documented 259 cases of violation of civilians in Taiz Governorate during last January, most of which were committed by the Houthi militia directly and intentionally.

The right to life
The Center said in its monthly report entitled “Al-Haima Holocaust of Yemen” that its field team was able to document the killing of 34 civilians, including 3 children and two women. The Houthi militia killed 25 civilians, including 3 children and two women. Seven civilians were killed, including two women and a child, and two civilians were killed by sniper fire. A follower of the Houthi militia, including a child, while 11 civilians, including a child, were killed by direct bullets, and Houthi militants executed 3 civilians and one civilian was killed by the explosion of a landmine planted by the Houthi militia, while one civilian was killed by running over a military group belonging to the militia.

Six civilians were killed by direct bullets of militants outside the state, and another civilian was killed by direct bullets of a member of the Security Committee.
Besides, gunmen in the government army executed one civilian and another was killed by bullets due to unknown gunmen.
The field center team was able to monitor the injury of 44 civilians, including 12 children and 12 women, the Houthi militia injured 38 of them, including 9 children and 12 women, where 21 civilians, including 10 women and 5 children, were injured by artillery shells of the militia, and 5 civilians, including a woman and two children, were injured by the explosion of mines a ground planted by the militia 4 civilians, including a woman and one child, were wounded by Houthi sniper bullets, and 8 civilians, including a child, were hit by direct bullets by Houthi gunmen.

4 civilians, including two children, were wounded by direct bullets of militants outside the state, and one civilian was wounded when an explosive device planted by unknown persons exploded also one civilian was wounded by bullets by unknown gunmen.

Kidnapping and enforced disappearance
The field team documented 119 cases of kidnapping.
The Houthi militia carried out 117 cases of kidnapping and enforced disappearance, and members of Tariq Saleh’s joint forces on the western coast carried out two cases.
Whereas, the center’s field team documented the abduction of 115 civilians by the Houthi militia from the Al-Haima area in Al-Ta’aziah district, including 10 children and 3 women from the Muhamasheen, 7 educators and a pharmacist, and turning a school into a collective detention.
The team documented that on January 2, the Houthi militia carried out a large-scale arrest campaign against civilians in Mawiya Junction and the villages of Al-Jundiya area adjacent to Taiz airport, against the background of their documentation of the launch of missiles that targeted Aden airport during the arrival of the legitimate government.
The human rights team for the Information Center also documented one case of assault committed by armed men outside the state.

Property
The field team monitored 61 cases of violation affecting private property, where 9 houses were completely damaged, 22 houses partially damaged, and 16 vehicles were damaged as a result of the bombing by the Houthi militia as a result of the bombing by the Houthi militia, moreover, the militia blew up 6 civilian homes, it also burned and raided a house and cut off wireless communications By the Houthi militia on the Al-Hima area.
Militants outside the state’s borders looted a vehicle, a cell phone, and judicial files, and a vehicle was burned by unknown gunmen.

Al-Haima Holocaust of Yemen
The report indicated that the beginning of the year 2021 was bloody, as the Houthi militia launched a fierce campaign that reached the point of genocide on the villages and isolation of the upper and lower neighborhoods, and the villages of the populated neighborhood were subjected to heavy bombardment with heavy artillery and tanks, furthermore, the militia stormed homes after taking off the closed doors and everything was looted by female soldiers named by “The Zainabiat”.

The militia took control of the villages of “Al Zawaqer, Al Mawhib, Wadi Al Hajeb, and Wadi Al Ethqiah” in the Al Haima region, thus completing the total control of the area, after raids of homes and farms, bloodshed, a number of dead and wounded, plus dozens of mass kidnapping, as well as dozens of homes were destroyed, bombed and damaged due to the intense artillery shelling and the firing of bullets, a complete siege was imposed on the entire area.
The militia stormed Qiyad’s isolation, adjacent to Al-Haima, with ten armored crews and raids, raided markets and homes, and kidnapped more than 30 civilians from the region, who took them to the prison of the city of Saleh.

It also imposed exorbitant royalties on the people of Al-Haymah, east of Taiz, amounting to 700,000 Yemeni riyals on large villages and 500,000 riyals on small villages.
The field team of Human Rights and Information & Training Center (HRITC) was able to document the data of about 115 abducted civilians from the Al-Hayma area, including 10 children, 3 women from the marginalized group, 7 educators and a pharmacist.
Media and security sources reported that the Houthis transferred 30 abductees from the people of Al-Haima to their prisons in Dhamar.

Assassinations
The field team of HRITC documented the killing of a military commander and his escort by militants outside the state, On January 2, Abdul Wahid Ali Ghaleb, 40-year-old commander of the Al-Haba site, and his companion, Mohammed Ali Ghaleb, 22, was shot dead in Al-Ash’ab village in Jabal Habashi.
On January 7, the team documented the injury of 9 soldiers with an explosive device previously planted by the Houthi militia on Arbaeen Street.
