Human Rights Information and Training Center (hritc) called on the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights as well as the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Yemen to take a swift and effective position to condemn the killing of the Houthi militia towards Mrs. Jihad Ahmed Al-Asbahi in the Al-Tafa area in Al-Bayda governorate southeast of the capital Sana’a).
HRITC said in its statement that the Houthi forces committed a horrific crime and against humanity by intentionally killing Mrs. Jihad inside her home on April 27 in Asbh-Altefa area in Al-Bayda Governorate at the hands of Houthi elements.
Several field sources confirmed that the death orders were issued by senior leaders in Sana’a and executed by senior supervisors in charge of Houthi forces in the area.
Where Houthi forces, reinforced with a tank and crews armed with heavy weapons, surrounded her house, then stormed the house and killed her, and it turned out that she was alone with her children at home.
HRITC, a regional organization holding the consultative status with the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations, demanded the speed of international action, especially by the Secretary-General’s envoy to the United Nations to Yemen, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to protect tens of people who are now arrested and abused in Sana’a and Al Bayda because they are only on They are related to Al-Asbahi family, or they react positively to the murder of Mrs. Jihad.
Reliable sources said, “Houthi militants” kidnapped 32 young men from their homes in cities under their control, including Sana’a, against the background of criticism of the group on social media platforms, and they were taken to unknown places.
Last week, houses were raided in three neighbourhoods of Sanaa and Hazez and Al- Asbahi neighbourhood, south of Sanaa and Madbah – and 12 young men were kidnapped after attacking them and terrorizing their families. “This is the second campaign carried out by the Houthi militia against the people of Al-Bayda Governorate after the young Jihad Al-Asbahi was killed by Houthi militants. The Houthi militants had carried out the beginning of last week, a raid campaign that affected the homes of dozens of people in the Al-Bayda governorate in the cities of Al-Bayda, Radaa and Sana’a, and resulted in the disappearance of 13 people, the whereabouts of most of them have not been determined yet.
In its statement, the Human Rights Information and Training Center (hritc) said that international intervention to condemn the crime and stop its repercussions is of the highest priority
Surprised by the silence of the international bodies concerned in Yemen, the fact that the repercussions of the incident threaten a widespread collapse of security in the Al Bayda area and the outbreak of fighting in the region unless the Houthi authorities hand over the killers to independent justice institutions that guarantee the integrity of the procedures and the achievement of justice an fairness.
