Arab activists call for activating the role of parliaments and civil society for human rights in Palestine
Several representatives of the human rights movement in the Arab region stressed the need to strengthen civil society’s role internationally and regionally to achieve equity and preserve human rights in Palestine.

The continuous and systematic violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces towards the Palestinians place a legal and moral responsibility on the international community to confront this and work to stop the latest policies of oppression and apartheid on the world level, which is represented by the Israeli policy.
In his speech at the symposium, Palestinian Minister of Justice Mohamed Al-Shalaldeh called on the Arab and Islamic parliaments to enact legislation that necessitates the prosecution of Israeli war criminals and human rights violators, stressing that the first step on which we can build an international prosecution of all those who violated human rights throughout Palestine comes through strengthening Arab cooperation. This will enable us to find broad international solidarity to stop the violations and pursue their perpetrators.
The symposium, which was characterized by the presence of different ideas and visions, addressed the importance of strengthening the role of civil society in the region to activate mechanisms to protect rights and strengthen cooperation efforts at the regional and international levels.
The seminar was attended by His Excellency the Palestinian Minister of Justice, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shalaldeh, the President of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, Lawyer Raji Al-Sourani, and Ambassador Ezzadin Al-Asbahi, the Director of Al-Haq and the Vice-President of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) Mr. Shawan Jabarin, Commissioner-General of Human Rights in Palestine and Head of Al-Mizan Center Mr. Issam Younes, Mr. AlHabib Belkouch, President of the Center for Studies and Human Rights in Morocco, Mr. Alaa Shalaby President of the Arab Organization for Human Rights, Mr. Assem Rababa, head of the Adalah Center in Jordan and Representatives of the Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) in Geneva, Beirut, and Yemen.
