HRITC condemns the Houthi crime of killing civilians. and warns of the danger of turning the judiciary into an apparatus of repression against the citizens.
Taiz /
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) condemned the executions carried out by the Houthi militia against civilians.
A statement by the center said that the public executions carried out by the Houthi militia in Sana’a are crimes against humanity committed by the Houthi militia in full view of the world, which did not move a finger.
The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC), a regional organization that has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, confirmed that the Houthi execution of nine civilians today in Sanaa without any procedures that guarantee a fair trial is a crime that must be condemned, punished and the victims and their families rehabilitated.
According to well-informed legal sources in Sana’a, they confirmed to the Information Center that the execution of the victims today was carried out through an unfair trial of 62 detainees in August 2020 by the Specialized Criminal Court under the authority of the Houthis.
The sources said that one of the detainees, Ali Kazabah, had died during torture, while Abdulaziz Al-Aswad, a minor, appeared in poor health as a result of torture, carried by a Houthi soldier after he was completely paralyzed and broke his spine.
In addition to the remaining detainees, they are:
Mohammad Noah, Ibrahim Aqel, Ali al-Quzi, Abd al-Malik Hamid, Muadh Abbas, Muhammad al-Mashkhari, Muhammad Haig and Mohammad Quzi, “a child,” all of whom are from the Tihama area.
The sources pointed out that during the period of detention since April 2018, the victims remained in unknown places and were subjected to disappearance and torture, and were deprived of their most basic rights in a fair trial, and their relatives were prevented from visiting them throughout this period so that everyone was surprised by the decision to carry out the execution.
HRITC center pointed to the danger of using the judiciary as a means to liquidate opponents and cause harm through sham trials.
This completely undermines the institution of the judiciary and makes it an instrument of repression directed at the hands of the security services.
