The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) announced that it had documented 51 cases of violations last July, Taiz, of which the Houthi militia committed 35 violations, 12 violations were committed by gunmen outside the framework of the state, while 3 violations were committed by unidentified gunmen, and only one was committed by members of the government army.
In its monthly report entitled “Children are the most abused victims in Taiz” the center said that its field team documented the killing of 10 civilians, including a woman and 4 children. The Houthi militias caused the death of 7 civilians, including 3 children and a woman. 3 civilians were killed by direct bullets, and 3 civilians were killed, including 2 children. A woman was killed by fragments of mortar shells belonging to the Houthi militia, and one child was killed as a result of the explosion of a militia projectile.
Armed men outside the state caused the death of one civilian with direct bullets, while a civilian was assassinated by bullets from unknown gunmen, and a child was killed as a result of the explosion of an explosive device carried out by unknown persons.
The field center team was able to monitor the injury of 20 civilians, including 3 women and 10 children. The Houthi militia caused 8 injuries, 7 of whom were children. 5 of them were injured by mortar shells from the Houthi militia, and a child was injured by a landmine belonging to the Houthi militia, while another child was injured as a result of the explosion of a remnant. During the Houthi war, and a civilian was injured in a Houthi drone bombardment.
11 civilians, including 3 women and 2 children, were injured by direct bullets from gunmen outside the state, and one child was killed by the explosion of an explosive device by unknown gunmen.
The center’s field team documented one case of kidnapping of a woman by individuals affiliated with the government army, and 20 cases of private property violations committed by the Houthi militia were documented, where 7 houses were partially damaged, 4 others completely, and 5 vehicles were damaged by Houthi artillery shelling, and two houses were completely destroyed by artillery shelling and another house. With anti-aircraft missiles belonging to the Houthi militia, the camps for the displaced were targeted by the Houthi militia.
The Center had also documented two cases of assassination, one of which was of a member of the Central Security Forces by an unknown gunman, and another case of the assassination of the head of the World Food Program team, Muayyad Hamidi, and the wounding of four others in Al-Turbah by gunmen outside the framework of the state.
